The head of the police department in Dagestan arrested for aiding terrorism

Investigative authorities in Dagestan detained the head of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Kizlyar region. This was announced on Sunday, November 22, by TASS, citing a source in the region’s law enforcement agencies.

According to preliminary data, the policeman is suspected of a number of crimes, including aiding terrorism and organizing a murder.

“He was detained by officers of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia,” said the agency’s source.

On the eve it became known that four people were detained, suspected of participating in a terrorist community that operated in the colony of PKU IK-2 of the Federal Penitentiary Service in Kalmykia.

All four were detained under Part 2 of Art. 205.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Participation in a terrorist community”. Two of them were detained while being released from a correctional institution after serving their sentences.
