The head of the FSIN department for the Trans-Baikal Territory, Evgeny Shikhov, died while hunting in the Karymsky region. This was reported on Saturday, April 24, by the Chita.ru portal, citing sources.
According to the interlocutors of the publication, during the hunt, in addition to Shikhov, one more person died. According to REN TV, we are talking about the head of SIZO No. 1 Valeria German, he died on the way to the hospital.
Presumably, both men were shot by a local huntsman; now he is being interrogated by law enforcement officers.

Evgeny Shikhov was born in 1969 in Khakassia. After graduating from the Abakan State Pedagogical Institute, he worked in the penitentiary system of the republic. In 2008, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Security Directorate of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory, and in 2011 he began working in the department’s administration in the Murmansk Region.
At the beginning of 2018, Shikhov was appointed head of the Federal Penitentiary Service for Transbaikalia. In 2020 he was promoted to Major General of the Internal Service.
