The first projects to support local initiatives have been completed in the Zapadnodvinsky District of the Tver Region. On July 27, they wrote about this on the website of the Tverskaya Zhizn publication.
It is not the first year that the Local Initiatives Support Program has been successfully implemented in our region, within the framework of which the most important projects, including those for rural areas, are being implemented aimed at improving and repairing public infrastructure in settlements.
A distinctive feature of the LISP is that the selection and implementation of projects are carried out with the active participation and co-financing of the population: at general meetings, residents decide which improvement works are priority for their settlement. Most often, these are the repairs of the water supply system, the improvement of courtyards and public areas, civil and military graves, the improvement of the quality of power supply, the installation of children’s and sports grounds, etc.
In December 2019, meetings were held in all rural settlements of the district, at which residents chose the repairs of street lighting networks in individual settlements as priority projects for implementation in 2020. The wishes of the population were taken into account, the corresponding applications and design estimates for the competitive selection were prepared. After its successful completion, the necessary procedures in such cases were carried out to identify the contractors. As a result, Energobalans LLC (Tver) became the contractor for the facilities planned for repair.
In June, the organization began large-scale work – the repair of street lighting networks with existing support poles – in the settlements of Zapadnodvinsky, Starotoropsky, Sharapovsky, Benetsky rural settlements. All of them have been successfully completed and now there are new LED street lamps on the lampposts. Very soon, on dark autumn nights, local residents will be able to fully appreciate the changes that have taken place.

– Now, after the repairs carried out and a significant increase in the number of lamps, the quality of street lighting will noticeably improve, which means that the level of comfort of citizens’ living and road safety will increase. Street lighting was brought to a standard state, its efficiency increased. In addition, the payment for the consumed electricity will now be made strictly in accordance with the readings of the installed metering devices, which will help significantly save financial resources.
