The head of the Federation of Car Owners of Russia (FAR) Maxim Edryshov gave some advice to Izvestia readers on choosing a car in the secondary market.
Before buying, the future car owner should make sure that he will not have any problems with registering the car, that it is not in bail or under arrest, the auto expert said.
You can check the car yourself, knowing the car’s wine code. This will come to the aid of the traffic police website and the official website of the register of secured cars.
But Maxim Yedryshov does not recommend performing the technical part of the vehicle check on his own if he is not confident in his abilities.
“You can, of course, check it yourself, but if you lack the strength and knowledge, then it is better to check it in the service. Or resort to the services of a “buyer’s assistant”, of which there are quite a few now, ”added the head of FAR.
Earlier that day, the Association of European Businesses reported that sales of new cars in Russia increased by 6.8% (by 9,097 units) in July 2020. For comparison, in July 2019, 141,924 vehicles were sold.
Nevertheless, according to the forecast of Maxim Yedryshov, the growth in new car sales will not have a particular effect on the used car market.
Earlier on July 21, Autostat experts found out that in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk and Voronezh, the most popular used car in January-May 2020 was the Ford Focus.
On July 20, it was reported that from January to June 2020, 364 thousand car loans were issued in Russia (for new and used cars), which is 18% less than in the same period last year.
