The domestic policy of US President Joe Biden in the first 100 days of his term in office is successful. Ian Bremmer, an American foreign policy analyst, founder and president of the international research and consulting firm Eurasia Group, said this in a conversation with TASS.
According to him, the modern American administration prioritizes the country’s domestic policy, and not the relationship between Washington and Moscow.
So, Bremmer singled out the rate of vaccination of US residents from COVID-19. According to him, its pace is higher than expected.
“Trillions more will be allocated by the end of the year [долларов в виде поддержки экономического роста США]… Applicable to both vaccines and the economic response [на пандемию] The United States is now leading the rest of the world, and this has helped to increase Biden’s popularity to 60%, ”the expert noted.
With regard to US foreign policy, Ian Bremmer expressed the opinion that during the time the Biden administration was in power, it did “little”. For example, the expert highlighted “public altercations with China.”
According to him, there have been no changes in relations with Russia during this time, despite the sanctions imposed by Biden against the Russian Federation. He called the restriction a return to the previous relationship.
“In the case of Afghanistan, the withdrawal policy continues [войск США]developed [предыдущим американским президентом Дональдом] Trump. Major shift [в политике США] took place in relation to Iran, in this direction to date and there is the greatest progress. The Biden administration and Iran are on track to restart the JCPOA in the coming months, ”commented the specialist.
A joint poll by The Washington Post and ABC News, published on April 25, showed that only 52% of Americans unequivocally or somewhat approve of President Biden’s activities in his first 100 days as head of state.
Thus, Biden’s approval rating was one of the lowest in history.
In early February, it was reported that Biden’s rating dropped by 2 pp. compared to the first days of his presidency. Then it turned out that 61% of respondents approve of his work as head of the United States.
The US Congress approved the election of Democrat Joe Biden as president on January 7. His inauguration took place on January 20.
