For the first time since February 2016, the euro rate exceeded 91 rubles. This is evidenced by the data of the Moscow Exchange.

It is noted that by 17:06 Moscow time the European currency rose to 91.01 rubles. In turn, the dollar rate for the first time since April 2016 exceeded 78.2 rubles.

According to RIA Novosti, such dynamics is associated with fears against the background of the second wave of coronavirus, as well as the situation with Alexei Navalny and threats of sanctions against Russia, experts say.

On September 10, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Alexei Zabotkin said that the growth dynamics of the Russian economy at the end of 2020 may slightly exceed the expectations from which the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia proceeded in July.

At the same time, many factors, both on the demand side and on the supply side, can influence the dynamics of GDP, so it is too early to say how these outgoing data will affect the forecast, he said.
