The Lefortovo Court of Moscow has recovered from the former State Duma deputy Vadim Varshavsky, who was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for tax evasion, a loan debt to the Trust bank in the amount of more than 8 billion rubles. This was reported to TASS on Saturday, September 5, in the press service of the instance.

“The claims were satisfied, from Varshavsky V. Ye. Funds were recovered to pay off the debt in the amount of 8 165 001 591.22 rubles, the cost of paying the state duty in the amount of 60 thousand rubles,” the court noted.

The decision can be appealed to the Moscow City Court within the time period established by law.

As reported at the end of August, 39 local deputies in Serpukhov near Moscow have been writing bonuses from the municipal budget for 14 years. The amount of bonuses was 50% of the average salary for Serpukhov, which is about 17 thousand rubles.

The prosecutor’s office applied to the court to recover the amount of unjust enrichment and demanded to return the money received from the municipal budget.
