The construction of the second branch of the Kazan metro will begin at the end of the year. Marat Aizatullin, director of GISU of Tatarstan, announced this.
“At the end of the year we will pass tenders, get a contract and start. After all, you know, building a metro is not the same as building a kids’ club. Each station requires huge sums, ”said the head of the department.
According to the head of the investment and construction department, the state examination will be ready in three months. After that, the construction of the subway will begin, he said.
One of the new stations of the Kazan metro, by agreement with the IKEA store, will have direct access to a hypermarket. Under the agreement, the Swedish company will have to allocate money for the construction of this station, added Aizatullin.
Today preparatory work is underway at the site of the future metro.
