The cost of building the North-East railway bypass of St. Petersburg is estimated at 109 billion rubles. About this on Saturday, August 29, writes “Interfax” with reference to the press service of the city administration.
The contractor for this order of JSC Russian Railways is JSC Lengiprotrans. To date, pre-design studies have been completed to determine the route of the North-Eastern railway bypass along the Pavlovo-on-Neve – Sosnovo route. The project provides for the construction of a double-track electrified railway line with a length of about 85 km.
The press service clarified that the construction of a new railway bridge across the Neva River near the village of Pavlovo will increase the speed of freight trains to the seaports of the northern part of the Gulf of Finland and the state border. It will also become possible to move passenger electric trains along diametrical routes due to the withdrawal of transit freight traffic to the North-Eastern railway bypass, as well as the reconstruction of the existing and construction of new railway infrastructure.
The concept for the development of the northern capital’s railway junction assumes a partial redistribution by 2030 of sorting work with transit flows from the St. Petersburg-Sortirovochny-Moskovsky station to the Shushary and Volkhovstroy stations, as well as the reconstruction of stations, traffic control systems and strengthening of the infrastructure of intra-nodal lines.
In May it became known that a large transport interchange hub would be built on the basis of the Moscow-Kalanchevskaya railway station. The construction will help the development of Moscow’s railway infrastructure and will serve to launch new diameters.
