The permanent power supply scheme in Vladivostok, damaged by the cyclone, will be restored within one to two months. This was announced on Friday, November 27, by the head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, Alexei Chekunov.
“The permanent scheme will be restored, according to preliminary estimates of the Ministry of Energy, within one to two months. This time we will live in a tense, nervous period, from time to time will “knock out” – he told reporters.
Chekunov also stressed that it was possible to prevent interruptions in the work of medical institutions due to the fact that the generators were immediately transferred to hospitals.
The day before, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Energy said that the heat supply in Vladivostok has been fully restored. In addition, the government of the Primorsky Territory noted that the preliminary amount of damage from the ice storm was 266 million rubles.
In Primorye last week, a snow cyclone passed, due to which power supply was interrupted in more than 10 districts of the city. The movement of buses was partially disrupted, some flights were delayed, ice formed on the roads. As a result, more than 180 thousand people living in 73 settlements were left without electricity. Due to power outages in Vladivostok and Artyom, pumping stations that supply water and heating to the houses of citizens stopped working.
As a result of the disaster, more than 600 houses remained without heating in the city. In the city, 205 damages were recorded on power grids, about 200 power transmission poles were damaged, which provide lighting on the streets, more than 4.5 thousand trees were felled.
On November 20, a regional emergency regime was introduced in Primorye. On November 22, the power supply returned to the homes of more than 30 thousand residents of Vladivostok and Artem. More than 660 people applied to the trauma centers of Vladivostok and Artem after the “ice storm”.
On November 25, it was reported that the power supply in Vladivostok was fully restored. Repair work on the power line damaged by the typhoon on November 20 was carried out around the clock. Power engineers “dismantled the fallen ones and installed three new supports, replaced the wire, traverses and insulators”.
