The Tatarstan customs, together with the UFSB for the Republic of Tatarstan, cut off the channel for the import of silver jewelry into the republic. Back in March, a group of persons who had arrived on a flight from Istanbul was identified at the Customs. They found undeclared rings, bracelets, brooches and earrings: 2,258 items were sent for examination. It turned out that one of the members of the criminal group is an individual entrepreneur and is on a special account at the Interregional Administration of the Federal Assay Board for the Volga Federal District.
The items turned out to be made of 925 sterling silver alloy. Two criminal cases were opened for the smuggling of strategically important goods, which include precious metal jewelry. Seven points of sale were identified where these jewelry products were sold without the hallmark of the auditorium.
About 6,800 items were seized, of which, presumably, more than 2.5 thousand items are of Turkish origin without the hallmark of the assay office of the Russian Federation, the rest of the products are made in Italy, Latvia, Vietnam, Thailand, Gonkog, the legality of their import is being established.
