State Duma deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party Vasily Vlasov came up with an initiative to abolish the transport tax on domestic cars in Russia. The parliamentarian wrote about this to Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.

The letter says that the most common cars in Russia are cars of domestic brands, which are characterized by a small engine capacity and a low price. According to the legislator, such cars are bought by citizens with a low level of well-being, in connection with which it would be advisable to abolish the transport tax on such cars on the territory of the Russian Federation.

He stressed that such a step is a small measure of economic support for Russian citizens and significant for the domestic auto industry. Vlasov also asked Siluanov to evaluate his idea and order to analyze the possibility of its implementation.
