Spotify posts Tchaikovsky billboard in New York’s Times Square

Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky made it to the billboard of the Spotify audio streaming service in Times Square in New York. The large-scale image was posted on Friday, December 18, RIA Novosti reports.

Earlier, on December 8, Spotify named the names of the most popular Russian musicians among foreign listeners. Tchaikovsky became the absolute leader in auditions.

“To pay tribute to the work of Tchaikovsky, outdoor advertising with the image of the composer was placed on Times Square in New York,” said the press service of the service in Russia.

They noted that now the monthly audience of Tchaikovsky on the audio streaming service is 4.8 million listeners around the world.

On December 2, Spotify summed up the rating of the music preferences of Russian users over the past four months. The leaders were hip-hop and relaxation music.

Data collection has been carried out by the Spotify service since its launch in Russia on July 15, 2020.
