The press service of the Russian MIA Administration for the Smolensk Region recalled the replacement of driver’s licenses, which expired from February 1 to July 15, 2020. The replacement is carried out until December 31, 2020 inclusive, and until that day the driver’s licenses are considered valid without any restrictions.

A preliminary registration for receiving a public service for replacing a driver’s license in the departments of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Smolensk Region is carried out on the Unified portal of state and municipal services or using the electronic queue system.

In addition, you can apply for a replacement driver’s license electronically by e-mail to the addresses of the examination units of the traffic police of the Russian MIA Administration for the Smolensk Region. This procedure is provided only for citizens whose driver’s license has expired from February 1 to July 15, 2020.

To do this, you need to send copies of documents: application, passport, medical certificate, Russian national driver’s license.

After consideration, a motivated refusal or information about the date and time of the applicant’s personal appearance for obtaining a driver’s license will be sent to the applicant’s e-mail address. If you appear in person at the traffic police department, you must provide the originals of these documents.

The State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian MIA Administration for the Smolensk Region calls on citizens not to show excessive impatience and not create a stir – there is enough time for replacement. The registration and examination divisions of the State Traffic Inspectorate are operating normally.
