The numbers are still alarming: the number of patients with confirmed coronavirus increased by 4.82% over the week, and the number of hospitalized adult patients also increased by 2.3%.
“A slight increase in the total number of actively patients with COVID-19 (by 0.08% per week) shows that the trend towards a decrease in the spread of infection has stopped and, possibly, will change direction in the near future,” the statement of the Interdepartmental Coordination Council under the Government of St. Petersburg said. which was published in Smolny on May 3.
The Committee also called on St. Petersburgers who have no medical contraindications for vaccination to get vaccinated against the “new coronavirus infection” as soon as possible.
