Scientists of the North Caucasian Federal University are thinking about creating a “smart” greenhouse for growing tomatoes, – reports the Information Policy Department of the Government of the Stavropol Territory. Development is carried out with grant funds.
“We focused on tomatoes, since the Stavropol region occupies one of the leading positions in Russia in the production of this culture,” the department quotes the words of one of the authors of the initiative, associate professor of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Security of the NCFU Vladimir Antonov.
Robots will grow and harvest tomatoes in the smart greenhouse. Each of the machines will perform a separate operation in a separate area allocated to it, and it is assumed that robots will be able to redistribute responsibilities themselves if necessary.
