Sewage treatment process

The first step of sewage treatment is the screening process. Here we will declutter the complete sewage to a screening plant. Grit removal

Grit is mainly the left out part of the sewage after the primary screening. It does not contain any crude or large material but fine impurities. Primary settling

Later the wash water will receive secondary settling and further treatment. Primarily we use the activated sludge method to dewater the sludge and treat the remaining water. Floating grease or charcoal is a problem here. High-class suction machines suck out the grease before pumping the water out of the tanks. Activated sludge method

Here the wash water from the previous dirt comes to settle. Biological degradation starts and the bacterias help break down the products to create nitrogen, hydrogen, and such chemicals. Bacterial degradation is quite similar to the natural degradation under the water bodies like ponds or lakes. But, it is faster and way more effective due to the presence of mechanical intervention.
