According to the results of the inspection, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation revealed serious violations in the activities of the Gorky Moscow Art Academic Theater. The materials of the check were sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office, according to the ministry’s website.
The report notes that in October 2020, the ministry completed a comprehensive audit of the activities of the M. Gorky Moscow Art Academic Theater for 2018-2019 and January-June 2020.
“The inspection revealed serious violations in the use of federal property, spending on wages, using the grant of the President of the Russian Federation, while fulfilling a state task, carrying out government purchases, carrying out repair work,” the text says.
The Ministry of Culture instructed the artistic director of the Theater, Eduard Boyakov, to eliminate violations and report on the measures taken.
At the same time, the materials of the theater audit were sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation for consideration and decision-making.
Eduard Boyakov has been working as the artistic director of the Gorky Moscow Art Theater since December 2018. His predecessor, People’s Artist of the USSR Tatyana Doronina, became the president of the theater.
