The AI Institute is scheduled to open in Moscow in January 2021. At the first stage, it will be academic – focused on the symbiosis of fundamental research and their orientation in the applied directions of human activity.
Jurgen Schmidhuber, one of the world’s most renowned specialists in the field of artificial intelligence, will be the scientific supervisor.
The Institute intends to attract leading scientists in the field of strong AI – domestic and foreign.
The first deputy chairman of the board of Sber, Alexander Vedyakhin, said at the online presentation of Investor Day: Strategy 2023 at the end of November that the company plans to entrust AI to make decisions on issuing 90% of loans by 2023.
According to him, now it takes seven minutes from an application for a loan in a large company to the processing of credit documentation and the issuance of money.
The financial effect of the introduction of artificial intelligence this year exceeded 60 billion rubles. Vedyakhin predicted that in the next three years the financial effect from AI will exceed 360 billion rubles.
