The S7 group of companies has begun the creation of a light launch vehicle with a reversible first stage. The group of companies has a floating cosmodrome Sea Launch.
“We have started to create a two-stage liquid-propellant rocket launch vehicle with a reversible first stage,” the company said in a statement.
Work on the project has been going on since 2019. It is noted that in the future, the experience gained will be used to manufacture a medium-class rocket for the cosmodrome.
S7 became the full owner of the Sea Launch project, which was mothballed since 2014, in 2018. Russia has abandoned the component parts of the Zenith missiles produced in Ukraine. Everything American and Ukrainian was removed from the platform and transferred to Russia.
