Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov is delighted to have been nominated for a Grammy in the category Best Solo Instrumental Work of Classical Music. The musician told about this to the TASS agency on March 13.

Trifonov was nominated for an award for the album Destination Rachmaninov – Arrival. Also in this nomination there is a German performer originally from Russia Igor Levit, an American pianist of Russian origin Kirill Gershtein, an American cellist Augustine Heidelik and an American performer Richard O’Neill.

“The Grammy nomination is always a pleasure, (she) is already the fifth for me. I am glad that my recording of Rachmaninov’s concerts has received attention along with the recordings of excellent musicians, ”he said.

The Grammy 2021 Music Awards have been postponed until March 14 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The event was originally scheduled for January 31st.

In November last year, the nominees for the music award were announced. Beyoncé became the leader in the number of nominations, she will compete for victory in eight categories.
