The Russian Embassy in Lithuania commented on the intention of the country’s Seimas to protect human rights anywhere in the world. The official Facebook page of the embassy says that in Lithuania itself there is disrespect for “the most basic rights of Lithuanians.”
“For the right to freely think, speak and write, for which year in a row politician A. Paleckis, youth activist A. Greicius have been dragged through the courts, they threaten to confine human rights activist G. Grabauskas to a psychiatric hospital, and ex-Lithuanian President R. Paksas is not allowed to political life,” approved in the message.
The statement of the Diet at the embassy was regarded as “amazing hypocrisy.”
