Some countries, under the pretext of helping to eliminate the consequences of the explosion, may interfere in the internal affairs of Lebanon. This was announced on Saturday, August 8, by the Russian ambassador to Beirut, Alexander Zasypkin.

He said that at present, many states are helping Lebanon to one degree or another to rebuild Beirut and say that at such moments it is necessary to unite.

“The reality is different and it is important to closely monitor the situation so that under the guise of a humanitarian disaster there is no interference in the internal affairs of Lebanon,” Zasypkin said in a conversation with RIA Novosti.

In addition, he stressed that someone is also in favor of anti-nationalization of the Lebanese problem, and this may aggravate the situation, writes Gazeta.ru.

An explosion took place in the port of Beirut on 4 August. More than 150 people died and more than 5 thousand were injured.

Russia turned out to be one of those countries who are currently helping Lebanon cope with the consequences of the disaster. Emergencies Ministry officers arrived in Beirut and set up their camp in the city to help the victims.

Lebanese Information Minister Manal Abdessamad and Lebanese Ambassador to Russia Shawki Bou Nassar have already thanked Moscow for their assistance.
