There are currently no cases of acute fever with thrombocytopenic syndrome – SFTS, or the so-called bunyavirus – in Russia. Earlier, the media reported about its distribution in China.
As reported in Rospotrebnadzor, this disease is not new. She was first diagnosed in China in 2009.
At the same time, the department emphasized that Russia has the potential to counter this deadly virus. Specialists of scientific organizations of Rospotrebnadzor have accumulated “extensive experience in studying numerous representatives of the Bunyavirus family.”
The symptoms of this virus are thrombocytopenia as well as leukocytopenia and gastrointestinal lesions. As a rule, vomiting and diarrhea are observed with the disease.
Earlier, China announced the spread of a new deadly virus. At least 60 people have been infected since the beginning of 2020. Dead seven.
