A public opinion poll showed that the inhabitants of Germany are largely skeptical about the further development of the situation, in connection with the coronavirus crisis raging in the country and in the world, which is becoming a real economic threat.
In a poll conducted by YouGov for the German agency DPA, only one in four residents of the country (26 percent) believes that the pandemic will be largely under control in the coming 2021. By contrast, two-thirds of the population believe that the coronavirus infection will continue to affect the lives of people in Germany, which will lead to the restrictions being extended for at least another year. 22 percent even expect a significant rise in inflation and, as a consequence, a deterioration in welfare.
