In Karelia, a criminal case on contract murder committed in 2005 in a generally dangerous way is being investigated. Investigators have identified the perpetrator and customer of the crime, according to the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
According to the investigation, in 2005 a resident of the region found a person who agreed to the murder, handed him weapons and information about the victim, and also promised to pay US $ 5,000. In June of the same year, the victim was killed near his home in Petrozavodsk, writes IA Karelinform.
The contractor and the customer were identified after lengthy work carried out by the investigators of the Investigative Committee. A preventive measure in the form of taking into custody was chosen against them.
Investigation of a criminal case under Part 3 of Art. 33 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and clause “f, h” part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Organization of murder for hire, in a generally dangerous way” continues. The defendants face up to 20 years in prison.
Earlier it was reported that in Obninsk (Kaluga region), a criminal investigation into a murder committed in 2015 in a cafe was completed. At the entrance to the establishment, the attacker fired indiscriminate shots, as a result of which one person was killed and one was wounded in the leg. The suspect was only found in August 2020.
