Regions of the North Caucasus Federal District Lead in Losses in Russia Due to the Pandemic

Experts named the Chechen Republic, Dagestan, North Ossetia and Ingushetia among the Russian regions in which business suffered the most tangible losses in the context of a new type of coronavirus pandemic.

According to FinExpertiza, which RBC refers to, in the period from March to May 2020, more than a third of Russian companies incurred losses in the total amount of 1.65 trillion rubles.

Among the regions with the largest business losses, Chechnya was named, in which the net loss of companies in March-May 2020 amounted to 3 billion rubles, Dagestan (2.7 billion rubles) and North Ossetia-Alania (1.9 billion rubles).

At the same time, the largest dynamics of growth of losses in the country is in the Republic of Ingushetia, where, according to the results of March-May 2020, business losses (1.5 billion rubles) increased by more than 33 times compared to the spring of last year – by 3260%. Chechnya is in second place in terms of the growth dynamics of business losses (984%). North Ossetia-Alania is also in the top ten (153%).
