The court found guilty of accepting a bribe on an especially large scale, Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Kamchatka Territory Valery Bykov. This is reported in the regional prosecutor’s office.

As noted, Bykov is the leader of the regional branch of the Communist Party. The Investigation Department claims that the parliamentarian, through the mediation of his acquaintance through extortion, being in the closed city of Vilyuchinsk and the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, received from the head of a non-mining company, who participated in operational-search activities, as a bribe a share in the authorized capital of the enterprise in the amount of 25% , its market value is 4.5 million rubles. Also, the legislator received money in the amount of 1 million 700 thousand rubles.

It is clarified that in return Bykov promised not to start checking activities and general patronage.

The representative of the regional prosecutor’s office said that the accused was punished under Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking bribes on an especially large scale), he was sentenced to 9 years in a strict regime colony, as well as a fine of 26.9 million rubles.
