Russian President Vladimir Putin will discuss road construction with members of the government on January 13, the Kremlin press service said on Tuesday, January 12.

“The main topic of the meeting [президента с членами кабмина] will discuss the results of road construction in 2020 and plans for 2021-2023, ”the publication says.

It is added that Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin and Chairman of the Commission of the State Council of Russia in the direction of “Transport”, the head of Buryatia Alexei Tsydenov will make reports on this topic.

In addition, the meeting will consider other topical issues.

On December 27, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree to allocate 172.3 billion rubles to the regions over three years for the repair, reconstruction and construction of highways.

In November, Khusnullin announced that it is planned to attract 1 trillion rubles of extra-budgetary funds for the construction of roads in Russia in the next three years.

In late August, Putin noted that he was counting on an increase in the pace of road construction in the country.
