Absurd norms and senseless procedures that exhaust and humiliate citizens must be removed. This opinion was made on April 15 by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI).

The head of state asked the government, the ASI State Council commission to study by-laws in the social sphere and analyze the life situations that Russians face.

“It is necessary to resolutely remove senseless demands, unreasonable, endlessly bureaucratic procedures, absurd norms and rules. Get rid of everything that exhausting, and sometimes, I must say frankly, even humiliates people. They dismantle the collectives of social institutions and demotivate, dismantle them in such a professional sense. Reduces the efficiency and quality of their work, “Putin added.

At a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council and ASI, the President also noted that improving the quality of life of people is the main thing for national development goals. According to him, citizens should live better both in big cities and in small towns. The president promised to assess the parameter of improving the quality of life as objectively as possible based on people’s opinions, including on the basis of opinion polls.

In February, Putin held a working meeting with ASI CEO Svetlana Chupsheva, during which ASI CEO spoke about the results of work in 2020 and said that the organization focused on supporting projects that were in demand during the pandemic.

In November 2020, the president proposed to ASI to launch a comprehensive mechanism for the implementation of socially significant projects of citizens. According to him, it is important to turn interesting ideas into viable projects, as well as to remove administrative and legislative barriers.
