Russian President Vladimir Putin began his speech with his annual address to the Federal Assembly.

The event takes place on April 21 in person at the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall.

On April 19, Putin said he was holding meetings to prepare his message to the Federal Assembly, including talks with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov. According to him, final decisions should be made on a number of important areas, including in the social sphere and infrastructure development projects.

On the same day, the press secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov said that deputies and senators, as well as the governor’s corps, would take part in the president’s message to the Federal Assembly. According to him, the speech in the message can be “about the socio-economic, technological and other development of the country.” He suggested that Putin will also talk about the upcoming autumn elections to the State Duma.

In 2020, Putin delivered a message on January 15, it lasted 1 hour and 12 minutes. During the event, the Russian leader, in particular, announced the need to hold a vote before the adoption of amendments to the Constitution.
