Russian boxer, interim WBC world champion Alexander Povetkin explained why he does not want to become an MMA fighter.

In an interview on the Youtube channel Metametrica, he stated that this is not his sport. The athlete noted that all his life he was engaged only in boxing and did not want anything else.

“In MMA, you have to fight, there are a lot of things. I do boxing, why do I need this? It is necessary to switch to a completely different system. In principle, I like to fight – well, for myself, of course, I’m not as professional in this as the guys from MMA. “- Povetkin explained.

Earlier it became known that Povetkin could fight with Ukrainian Alexander Usik. In this case, the fight will take place for the title of the mandatory contender for the WBC heavyweight belt. Last weekend, Povetkin knocked out Briton Dillian White and became the interim WBC champion.
