Russian cybersecurity company Positive Technologies has denied allegations of cooperation with Russian intelligence made by the US Treasury. This is stated in a statement issued by the company, which was at the disposal of Izvestia, on Friday, April 16.

“We, as a company, reject the groundless accusations made against us by the US Treasury Department: for almost twenty years of our work history, there has not been a single fact of using the results of Positive Technologies research activities outside the traditions of ethical exchange of information with the professional information security community and transparent business conduct”, – the company notes.

At the end of 2020, Positive Technologies’ revenue grew by 55% compared to 2019 and amounted to 5.6 billion rubles. Currently, the company employs more than 1,100 employees. The company has been creating innovative solutions in the field of information security for 18 years. Its products and services make it possible to identify, verify and neutralize real business risks that may arise in the IT infrastructure of enterprises. Today the company’s products are used by more than 2 thousand companies in 30 countries of the world.

The US Treasury announced on April 15 the introduction of new sanctions against Russia. 32 individuals and organizations were blacklisted in Washington, including six technology companies. The victims, in addition to Positive Technologies, were the military innovative technopolis of the Ministry of Defense ERA, the St. Petersburg developer Neobit, the major IT supplier of the Russian defense industry Advanced System Technologies (AST), the Rostov Research Institute of Specialized Computing Devices for Protection and Automation (Spetsvuzavtomatika), and IT-company “Pasit”. They are accused of being connected with the Russian special services.

After the restrictions were imposed on the Russian Foreign Ministry, on April 15, the US Ambassador to Moscow and John Sullivan were summoned. Aide to the Russian president, Yuri Ushakov, explained to him the essence of retaliatory measures against the restriction.

Moscow has warned of a decisive response to Washington’s steps.

The Kremlin assessed the possible impact of the new sanctions on the Russian economy. They stressed that the efficiency of the country’s economic bloc is recognized at the international level and there is no reason to doubt it.
