A series of moves by the administration of US President Joe Biden will weaken the American economy and give China an advantage. This opinion was expressed by former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at a conference of US conservative circles in Orlando (Florida), the Izvestia TV channel reports.
Speaking about the refusal of the new US administration to build the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada to the United States, Pompeo noted that the Democrats “destroyed 10 thousand jobs.”
According to the former secretary of state, the American president’s special envoy for climate, John Kerry, believes that the residents of the country who did not get jobs related to the oil pipeline “will go to make solar panels.” Pompeo expressed confidence that this will not happen.
He stressed that the administration of US President Donald Trump did not allow the PRC to “take away jobs” from Americans, insisting on “fair trade based on the principle of reciprocity.”
Commenting on Biden’s decision to return the United States to the Paris Climate Agreement, Pompeo argued that the Chinese leadership is extremely happy about this, and “American workers have lost.” The Trump administration insisted that the agreement was extremely disadvantageous for the American economy.
