State Duma deputy and former chief sanitary doctor of Russia Gennady Onishchenko on Saturday, December 19, in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, shared his ideas on how to celebrate the New Year.

According to him, the coronavirus gives the opportunity to celebrate the holiday “exactly as it should be – in the family circle, among their children and loved ones.” At the same time, the Christmas fast continues and, as the parliamentarian noted, celebrate the New Year “in asceticism”.

According to the deputy, it would be possible to give the opportunity to celebrate New Year’s Eve in a restaurant for those who have been ill with COVID-19, who already have immunity, and those who have been vaccinated.

“That is – please, we trust our person! He says: “I have been ill.” And there is no need to demand from him some absurd certificate so that he brings it. Just say: who has been ill, we are waiting for you. Give them some discounts. And then it will be good both for the entrepreneur and for this person that someone sympathized with him in such, I would say, materialized way, ”Onishchenko added.

Also, for those who do not want to “stand at the stove” on holidays, you can order food from restaurants, and thus, the deputy noted, also support the restaurant business, which is not easy during a pandemic.

In addition, the former sanitary doctor suggested an alternative way to celebrate the New Year.

For example, at the Moscow skating rink – in the Gorky Park, but it is imperative to determine the quota and sell a certain part of the tickets “for a symbolic amount”.

If we are talking about trips abroad, then Onishchenko will emphasize that based on the epidemiological situation in the world, it is necessary to celebrate such a holiday at home.

Many cities have imposed restrictions on the operation of cafes and restaurants in the New Year. So in St. Petersburg from December 30 to January 3, all cafes and restaurants in the city will be closed.

On November 13, additional anti-epidemiological measures came into force in Moscow, which will be valid until January 15. According to the corresponding decree of the Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin, all entertainment establishments, bars, cafes, karaoke are now open only until 23:00. At the same time, food delivery and cooking to take away were not subject to restrictions.

In addition, it was decided to cancel all festive New Year events. However, the streets of the capital will still be decorated to create a familiar festive atmosphere. New Year’s corporate parties in Moscow can be held until 23:00 and with the participation of no more than 50 people.

Also, on New Year’s Eve, all parks and skating rinks in Moscow will not work.
