New Year’s holidays, during which most Russians will stay at home, will help contain the epidemic process and strengthen the family. This opinion was expressed by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, State Duma deputy Gennady Onishchenko.
Earlier it became known that the number of new detected cases of coronavirus in Russia increased by 28 948, reaching 2 848 377.
According to the parliamentarian, this year there will be no mass celebrations, and therefore the New Year holidays will contain the incidence of coronavirus.
Onishchenko recalled last New Year, when “the entire Okhotny Ryad, from the Bolshoi Theater to the Pushkin (monument) along Tverskaya, was closed.” He noted that there were at least one hundred thousand people at the same time. “And this year everyone will be more at home,” the deputy added.
