Director of the Coordination Center of the All-Russian Popular Front (ONF) for economic recovery Ilya Semin proposed to encourage employers for employing graduates of 2020. This is reported by RT with reference to a copy of the corresponding letter addressed to the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Russia Elena Mukhtiyarova on Thursday, July 30.

For employers who will accept for an internship with the subsequent employment of graduates this year, it is proposed to develop a new mechanism in the form of subsidies from the federal budget in the amount of up to three minimum wages. The graduate will have to work in the received specialty in the organization for at least one year.

The employer will be able to receive such a subsidy after one year. Payments must be made for each graduate employed. They should be extended to organizations that work in priority sectors of the economy for the purpose of import substitution.

Semin believes that this will allow young professionals to find work faster.

“The coronavirus pandemic has seriously affected the labor market … The unemployment rate has risen. Certain difficulties with finding a first job are also experienced by graduates of higher and secondary specialized educational organizations, for whom it was quite difficult to find the first job even before the coronavirus pandemic, ”Semin quoted RT as saying.

At the end of June, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin urged government members to think about ways to support graduates in employment issues, especially in the increasingly competitive labor market.

Later, on July 21, Minister of Education and Science Valery Falkov said that employment of graduates of the country’s universities should be kept under the personal control of rectors at least until the end of the year. According to him, a unique situation has developed this year.
