Berlin police on the evening of Monday, December 14, detained one of the suspects in the case of theft from the Green Vault Museum in Dresden in November 2019. This was reported by the Bild newspaper.
According to the sources of the publication, during a special operation conducted in the Neukölln area at about 19:00 (21:00 Moscow time), law enforcement officers managed to capture one of the twin brothers – 21-year-old Mohammed Remmo, who is suspected of robbing the treasury. The whereabouts of his brother Abdul Majed Remmo are currently unknown.
In November, Interpol, at the request of the German authorities, issued an international arrest warrant for two alleged members of the gang involved in the robbery of the Green Vault Museum in Dresden. They were talking about 21-year-olds Mohammed and Abdul Majed Remmo, who “are allegedly part of the family’s criminal network.” Earlier, on November 17, 2020, during an operation conducted by the police, three members of the Remmo family were arrested, suspected of robbery, but the brothers managed to escape.
On January 11, allegedly, the participants in the robbery of the Dresden treasury “Green Vault” offered to return part of the valuables on the darknet for € 9 million. It is noted that the unknown offered to buy the Saxon White diamond and the Polish Order of the White Eagle from them.
The theft took place in November 2019. The intruders sawed through the window bars on the first floor, broke the glass, took the contents from the showcase with the decorations and fled in a car. Three sets of 18th century jewelry (94 items) were stolen from the treasury. One was inlaid with diamonds, the other two with diamonds.
According to media reports, the value of the stolen jewelry could be € 1 billion. Experts believe that the robbery was ordered.
