The court in Soligorsk appointed Anatoly Bokun, co-chairman of the strike committee of Belaruskali, to 15 days of administrative arrest. This was announced on August 31 by the head of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union Maxim Poznyakov.

“The court session has just ended,” TASS quotes him. Bokun was sentenced to 15 days of arrest for carrying out unauthorized actions again, Poznyakov noted.

For the first time, the court considered the administrative case of Bokun behind closed doors on 24 August. At the same time, representatives of the strike committee called on workers throughout Belarus to join the so-called Italian strike, which involves the painstaking performance of their duties by workers strictly according to instructions.

On August 9, presidential elections were held in the republic, in which, according to official data, the incumbent head of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko won, gaining more than 80% of the vote. Those who disagreed with the results of the vote took to the streets, and some enterprises, including the country’s largest industries, went on strike.

The head of state ordered to close the striking factories from August 24, writes Gazeta.ru. On August 27, the Minister of Industry of Belarus Petr Parkhomchik, during a meeting with the President of the country Alexander Lukashenko, announced the stabilization of the situation at enterprises.
