The authorities of the Irkutsk region are planning to develop wedding tourism in Listvyanka and Baikalsk. This was announced on August 6 by the press service of the regional government.
The newlyweds want to come to Lake Baikal to celebrate their wedding here. In 2019, 180 marriages were registered in Listvyanka. In 2020 – only 50, but here the coronavirus pandemic prevented. As spouses were not only couples from the Irkutsk region, but also from other cities of Russia and even from other countries.
According to the project, it will be possible to register a marriage and arrange a wedding in Baikalsk, Listvyanka and in the Olkhonsky district. Travel agencies need to create wedding tours in different price ranges. The regional authorities hope that this project will be interesting for tourists.
