According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), over the past day in Germany, the number of newly infected people has increased by 11,176, but on Sundays the number of registered cases is usually less – also because fewer tests are performed on weekends (14,714 yesterday).

As of Sunday, October 25, 429,181 cases of infection have been recorded in the country since the beginning of the collection of official statistical information on coronavirus. The total number of deaths from Covid-19 to date is 10,032 people. The R value over 4 days is 1.36.

It is estimated that there are 102,049 active cases, that is, people currently infected. This figure is not officially recorded by the Robert Koch Institute. However, as in other countries, it is determined by subtracting the number of deaths (10,032) and the estimated 317,100 recovered from all ever infected.

According to the Intensive Care Register, there are currently 1,203 people being treated for Covid-19 in intensive care units. This represents about 4.0 percent of the more than 30,000 intensive care beds in Germany.
