Opposition leader Alexei Navalny wants to personally participate on April 29 in the appeal of the libel case against the veteran. This was announced to reporters by his lawyer Vadim Kobzev.
“We asked the court to ensure personal participation in the meeting. But participation via video link from the colony is also considered personal. I am sure that he will not be taken to Moscow for an appeal,” Kobzev said.
Earlier, the lawyer said that Navalny’s registration as prone to escape was appealed. He clarified that the corresponding claim was filed in an administrative claim to the Preobrazhensky Court of Moscow. “We have filed an administrative claim … against the SIZO-1” Matrosskaya Tishina “… with a demand to cancel the decision of the FSIN authorities on recognizing Navalny as inclined to escape,” the human rights activist said.
