Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko on Friday, October 2, said that there are about 1.6 thousand children with coronavirus in hospitals in the country.

“A total of 1.6 thousand children across the country are in stationary conditions, while the situation is stable,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

The head of the Ministry of Health added that often children carry the coronavirus asymptomatically or in a mild form, but they should still follow the rules of prevention.

On the eve it became known that in the Moscow region half of the schools with a modular system will go on vacation from October 5. At the same time, according to the regional education minister Irina Kaklyugina, early weekly holidays may be introduced in schools where children study in quarters.

In Moscow, the autumn school holidays were doubled due to the epidemiological situation in the city. For all students of the capital, the holidays will last from 5 to 18 October, writes Gazeta.ru.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, 1,194,643 cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Russia, including 9,412 in the last 24 hours. 21,077 deaths were recorded, 970,296 patients recovered.
