More than half of Russians hope that 2021 will be better for them than 2020, RIA Novosti reported on December 23, citing the results of a study by Otkritie Bank.
“53% of Russians believe that their personal 2021 will be better than 2020. 35% of our fellow citizens believe that nothing will change significantly for them in the new year. Only 12% of respondents expect 2021 to be worse than 2020, ”the agency reports.
About a third of respondents (30%) expect the coronavirus pandemic to end by next summer, while the rest are confident that the restrictions associated with COVID-19 will hold out until the end of 2021. Every fourth respondent expects the income level to be maintained, 17% expect it to grow, and half of the respondents expressed fears of losing income.
29% believe that rates on deposits and loans in the new year will remain at the level of 2020. More than a quarter of Russians expect a reduction in rates on both types of financial products. In turn, 29% of respondents predict an increase in interest rates on loans and deposits.
Earlier, on December 22, it became known that most Russians are planning to celebrate the New Year at home.
