In Switzerland, 55 people have died after being vaccinated against COVID-19, patients suffered from concomitant diseases, their deaths are not related to vaccination. This was announced on Friday, April 9, by the Swiss drug market supervisor Swissmedic.
It is clarified that the average age of the deceased was 84 years. According to the department, the death was caused by infections, cardiovascular diseases or diseases of the lungs and respiratory tract, “which occurred regardless of vaccination.”
According to Swissmedic as of April 6, there were 1174 cases of side effects in the country that appeared after the use of vaccines. Of these, 577 cases relate to the Comirnaty vaccine from Pfizer / BioNTech, and 580 to the Moderna vaccine. In another 17 cases, it is not specified which vaccine was used.
The department clarifies that of all the side effects, 396 cases (33.7%) are regarded as serious, Gazeta.Ru writes.
Earlier, on March 2, 41 deaths were reported after being vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer vaccine in Austria during the vaccination campaign. The Federal Office for Healthcare Safety then noted that no evidence of connection with vaccination had been established.
