In Moscow, more than 3 thousand animals were taken from city shelters in 2020. This was announced on Wednesday, January 20, by the Moscow City News Agency with reference to the press service of the Moscow Housing and Utilities Department.

According to the ministry, about 2.5 thousand dogs and 758 cats were taken from shelters last year. Moreover, more than 380 animals found their owners during the period of the home regime.

There are 13 municipal animal shelters in the capital, they contain about 17 thousand cats and dogs, writes RIAMO. When the animal enters the shelter, it is placed in a special isolation ward for 10 days in quarantine.

Pets are attached, finding new owners for them, volunteers are about 3 thousand volunteers who visit shelters regularly. In addition, the shelters have care specialists who feed the animals several times a day, change the water in the drinking bowls, clean the enclosures and monitor the health of the wards.

Earlier on January 20, it was reported that veterinarian Angelina Sirotina told how to recognize fever in cats and dogs. The specialist noted that an increase in temperature in pets may indicate an inflammatory process in the body.
