According to Johns Hopkins University (JHU), more than 24 million people have been infected with a new type of coronavirus in the world since the beginning of the pandemic. Most cases are in the United States of America (5.8 million), Brazil (3.6 million) and India (3.2 million). In 821 654 cases, the disease was fatal.
The Robert Koch Institute claims 236,429 cases in Germany to date, which is 1,576 more than a day ago. Over the past seven days, 8,505 infected have been identified. Since the beginning of the pandemic in the country, 9,280 people have died as a result of a new type of coronavirus.
