In Lipetsk, until May 7, 17 monuments dedicated to the Great Patriotic War will be put in order. Among them are the “Tank” monument, steles on Victory Square and Shkatov Street, an obelisk “Glory to the Heroes Who Died in the Battle of the Motherland” and others. The list of works includes replacing damaged tiles, painting inscriptions and pedestals, repairing metal parts, cleaning from dirt and dust.
Special attention will be paid to the monument on Victory Square. After washing, the monument will be treated with a special hydrophilic compound, which will protect the structure from the formation of streaks on the surface. Writes about this Lipetskmedia. “First of all, the contractor will carry out minor repairs of the monuments and steles, and then, closer to the Victory Day, he will start washing,” noted Roman Kamaev, leading engineer of the chief caretaker’s department.
The monument to Lenin, which was erected on Konstantinova Square in Lipetsk, will be restored. The figure has already been removed from the pedestal and transported to a workshop on the outskirts of the city. The restoration will be carried out by Macedon Sariev. The sculpture is made of concrete. The restorer plans to replace the support platform, sandblast, repair cracks, rebuild parts and paint. Now the figure is silvery, but after restoration it will become gold.
