Modernization of outdoor lighting completed in Stary Oskol

In the city of Stary Oskol, Belgorod Region, the modernization of outdoor lighting on the central highways has been completed. It was performed by Rosseti Center Belgorodenergo, the company said.

The work took place on central streets, roundabouts and traffic intersections, including Molodezhny, Komsomolsky, Pobedy avenues, Eroshenko street, highway 8-8, 9-9 and Ilya Khegaya street. In total, power engineers have replaced almost 1.4 thousand lamps with LED lamps, Abireg news agency writes.

Today, there are almost 23 thousand lamps in Stary Oskol. The share of LEDs increased from 0.3 to 14.9%.

According to the head of the city district administration, Alexander Sergienko, a two-year contract with the enterprise was signed in June this year. It envisages an ambitious program to update the lighting on the city’s transport arteries, which are fully illuminated at night.

Aleksey Botviniev, deputy head of the regional housing and communal services department, noted that there are more than 210 thousand lamps on the streets of the Belgorod region, of which 17% are LED.
