MEXICO | A 54-year-old woman has become the first person in Mexico to be infected with both COVID-19 and influenza A (H1N1), authorities said on Sunday.

This woman from Mexico “suffered from autoimmune diseases, with a history of cancer and obesity, in addition to chronic lung disease,” said Jose Luis Alomia, head of epidemiology at the Ministry of Health. , during his traditional press conference.

The patient presented symptoms at the end of September which led to her hospitalization at the National Institute of Nutrition. Doctors consider his condition stable.

Mexico is the fourth country most bereaved by the COVID-19 pandemic, with 83,781 deaths and some 817,503 contaminations, according to the latest official figures.
